Step 5: Get the word out
Now that you’ve added your fundraising event to your Firstgiving nonprofit page and started fundraising yourself, it’s time to get the word out. Tell your fundraisers how easy and quick it is to set up a fundraising page for your event. They don’t have to be technology experts, and they can set a page up in about 5 minutes.
- Learn: Recruit fundraisers by publicizing your Firstgiving nonprofit page and event online and offline. Start by sending an email out to your supporters, telling them about your event and inviting them to join. Make sure you use language that generates a sense of excitement. Here’s an example:
We’re getting ready to host our annual Fundraising Event Name, and we have an amazing tool to help you fundraise! Firstgiving allows you to create your own personal fundraising page to collect donations securely by credit card. It’s like having an online version of a paper pledge sheet, and Firstgiving sends the donations straight to us.
